We did the shop party/birthday thing last night and it was a blast! There were a ton of people that were out there, much beer was drank, many jello shots consumed (Thanks Vera!) and we had an overabundance of food. You know, most of us Midwesterners just are looking for an excuse to "potluck" and most of the goodies were on the crock pot variety.

Chili, cheese dip, sausage and cheese dip, more chili, taco dip, Little smokies, polish sausage, homemade buns (my honey loves to cook and bake), some homemade alcohol even. Thinking about it, that was an awful lot of dip... Oh, and Red brought a huge meat and cheese tray from the land of psychotic bagboys (aka the local grocery chain). We'll be able to eat off all the leftovers for a week!

There were some people that weren't able to make it - someone couldn't find a babysitter for their diabetic son, and some others made it clear they didn't care to come, but they don't have time for us on a regular basis anyhow. There was also a soap opera that had to do with a spousal fight and hunting weekend, and that contained a lot of "TMI".

The dogs were the hit of the party - Beau ended up barking at Kent when he came in and scared him pretty badly! Kent is a HUGE guy, so it was actually pretty entertaining. The dogs apparently haven't ever seen someone dance either, and they were barking at Dave and I, as well as Norm and Vera when we were dancing! I think they thought we were hurting each other, and they would come to our rescue. It was actually pretty amusing as we were dancing and the dogs were barking away trying to get to us! Couple of goofballs - we had to hug them and then it was okay again.

Yes, we had live music too. And kareoke even.

It was a pretty happening shop party even if it was pouring rain out and cancelled the bonfire. :)

I'm going to go curl up with my honey and pick out plane tickets for our Mexican Christmas vacation.
