Visits:

It's been some weekend allright.

Dave was supposed to go to Minneapolis to pick up a motorcycle - specifically a Ducati - and that deal fell through. So he spent a good portion of yesterday looking online and in town to try to figure out what he wants.

The conclusion? Well, he's thinking Harley, but doesn't want to spend more than $7k. However, he has that in cash, and could finance the rest. So who knows what he will end up with? He needs something bigger thana Sportster as he's 6'3". My Dad keeps trying to tell him that his is for sale (Dad's got a Springer that's totally decked out) but Dave doesn't want to spend the $20k for a motorcycle. So we'll see what happens.

I got home from work yesterday and Dave called - he wasn't home which was weird as he said that he was going to spend some time working from home.

Some of our family friends that were up to visit this weekend had gone out on a motorcycle ride and were in an accident. Not a really bad one, but bad enough to warrant a trip to the ER for both of them.

They were going around a curve and hit a patch of gravel and over they went into the ditch. Don broke his collarbone and has road rash like you wouldn't believe, and Colleen is okay but for bruised hip and shoulder and more road rash. They were only going about 10-15 mph when it happened, so thank goodness everybody is okay.

The bike isn't in to good of shape, but of course that's fixable. Not a big deal really, and my Dad has already said that he would be happy to take care of repainting it. So no big deal there, just some time and money involved - bikes are fixable and people aren't.

So last night when they came home Colleen hopped in the shower to try to get the grit and ick out of her road rash. The hospital in DL is completely incompetent as they didn't clean out the road rash hardly at all. Myself, Dave, Dad and Doug took Don out to the shop and used the "dog washer" on him because he can't lift his arm.

The "dog washer" is this deal that we've hooked up to the sink out there, it's basically a modified sink sprayer, and with the warm water it worked really well for Don to get clean and not have to move around at all. Dad sprayed, I scrubbed and Dave put on hydrogen peroxide. It was quite the operation. But he said that he felt much better after he was clean and not all graveled up. I had to wash his hair twice to get all the gravel out!

So this morning we're headed over to Mom and Dad's for breakfast, then in to town to buy groceries as we're going to have steak and crab again tonight for supper. I wanted to spray out the landscaping today, but it is windy as heck out, so that's not going to happen. I'm going to water the garden and then go take my first motorcycle lesson from Normie.

I should clean the Explorer out and I should clean the Harley up. However I have this sneaking suspicion that someone else is going to start riding the Harley more than me (heheheh) so perhaps I'll just wait on that.

I sure hope nobody's weekend was quite as "eventful" as mine.
